Amy Lowell Apartment Building is one of the last standing income-restricted buildings in Boston’s historic West End neighborhood. It is a critical asset to the community and is in need of modernization to reduce emissions and maintain high-quality units for seniors.

The team conducted an in-depth assessment of the building, property and equipment through visual observations, evaluation of existing documents, and local codes and ordinances. A quality of life survey was also conducted, and several community meetings were held with residents and local elected officials.

Recommendations were provided for compliance with the City of Boston’s Building Energy Reporting and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) which sets requirements for large buildings to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
